To strengthen multidimensional collaboration with world-leading universities and advance excellence in educational talent cultivation, the Faculty of Education at East China Normal University (ECNU) has expanded its International Academic Exchange Week Program. In 2025, the Faculty will organize a series of academic exchange programs with institutions including Columbia University, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
From May 15 to 22, 2025, at the invitation of the China Education Research Center (CERC) at Teachers College, Columbia University, an academic delegation from the Faculty of Education at East China Normal University (ECNU) conducted a week-long academic exchange visit to New York City, USA. The primary focus of this visit was participation in the international education forum co-hosted by the ECNU Faculty of Education (comprising the Institute of International and Comparative Education, the Institute of Schooling Reform and Development, and the John Dewey Center for Educational Thought) and Columbia University's CERC. The forum's theme was "John Dewey and Educational Transformation: Global Experience," showcasing the Faculty of Education's holistic, systematic, and international academic approach, as well as its diverse and collaborative research strengths.

During their stay in the US, the delegation received a warm welcome from the CERC at Columbia University. They engaged in in-depth dialogues with Dr. Henan Cheng, Executive Director of CERC, and internationally renowned education scholars from Teachers College, including Professors Hervé Varenne, David Hansen, and Gita Steiner-Khamsi.
This visit significantly strengthened academic ties between China and the US, expanded the international network of the ECNU Faculty of Education, and comprehensively demonstrated the voice and research depth of Chinese education scholars on the global academic stage.
