On November 10th，2017, a delegation from Monash University, Australia visited the Faculty of Education of ECNU to negotiate issues regarding cooperation. Prof. John Loughran (Dean of the Faculty of Education), Prof. Jane Wilkinson (Vice Dean of the Graduate School), Dr. Iris Duhn (pre-school education major) and Ms. Louise Goold (program manager) from Monash University attended a conference with representatives from the Faculty of Education, including Prof.Yuan Zhenguo (Dean of the Faculty of Education), Yang Fuyi (Director of the International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education), Hu Yuman (Officer of the International Affairs Division), Donghui (Deputy Director of the Educational Management Department), Zhao Qi (Deputy Director of the Instruction Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education) and Dr. Liu Xiao (Lecturer from the National Institutes of Educational Policy Research). After more than one hour’s discussion, the two sides reached agreement on the collaboration of short-term exchange programs for staff and PhD students as well as settled the schedule, including the plan to sign a memorandum of cooperation before the end of the year and carry out the two programs scheduled for next spring semester. Both two sides showed aspiration to strengthen collaboration on scientific research and other aspects by fulfilling these two programs.
On the afternoon of November 9th, Prof. Jane Wilkinson delivered an academic speech titled “Educational Leadership in Australia: Insights, Challenges and Possibilities”, which was hosted by Prof. Li Weisheng (Director of the Educational Management Department) and received great feedback from the teachers and students.
