On the morning of April 18th, 2017, Associate Professor Charin Mangkhang, Head of the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University (CMU) along with more than 40 teachers and students of the department visited the Faculty of Education, East China Normal University (ECNU). Both parties exchanged ideas over issues related to pre-service and in-service teacher training. Dr. Yun Bai, Director of the Instruction Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education at ECNU, Dr. Fuyi Yang, Director of the International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education at ECNU and Qun Zhou from the International Affairs Division of the Faculty of Education at ECNU attended the meeting.
Firstly, Dr. Fuyi Yang welcomed the teachers and students from the Faculty of Education at CMU. After Dr. Fuyi Yang gave a brief introduction of the Faculty of Education at ECNU, Associate Professor Charin Mangkhang introduced the Faculty of Education at CMU. Then, Dr. Yun Bai introduced the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Faculty of Education, ECNU, including special program “Fonian Project”. Based on mutual understanding, both parties exchanged and shared ideas over issues related to pre-service and in-service teacher training in the two countries. The discussion, which covered such aspects as educational system, cultivation objective, curriculum arrangement, internship and employment, was profound and lively with all participants benefiting a lot.
Chiang Mai University, founded in 1964, is the only national university in Chiang Mai. Being a top-class institution for higher education in northern Thailand, it provides a high quality learning environment for students not only from northern Thailand but also from overseas, especially areas near Indochina Peninsula.
