Aiming to expand our international strategy and speed up the “double First-class Universities and First-class Disciplines” construction, the Faculty of Education held the first academic exchange activities in the United States. Over 200 people attended the exchange ranging from universities such as: Harvard University, Columbia University, University of Chicago, University of Maryland, Michigan State University, University of California, Santa Barbara, Boston University, Syracuse University, University of Illinois at Urbana, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of North Texas, New York University, University of British Columbia, Purdue University, University of Iowa, Indiana University, Massachusetts University, University of Kansas, University of Delaware, Oslo Universities and other well-known overseas experts and scholars, and East China Normal University alumni as well. Dean Yuan Zhenguo, introduced the development plan and the international development strategy of the Faculty of Education of ECNU for the next 3-5 years, which attracted the great interest of the participants.
The theme of this year’s AERA (American Education Research Association ) Annual Conference is “Public Scholarship to Educate Diverse Democracies.” During the five-day meeting, teachers and students of the Faculty of Education made more than ten reports, such as group meetings, round tables and posting papers, and shared the research results and academic opinions.
During the meeting, the Faculty of Education also held an “educational research and cooperation” round-table discussion, and reached agreement to cooperate on personnel training, teacher and student exchanges, and scientific research with many universities.
The academic exchange activities further deepened exchanges and cooperation between overseas academic institutions as well as international partners and the Faculty of Education. This has allowed for the introducing of talent from overseas to the Faculty of Education, and enhanced the international influence of the Faculty of Education in the field of education research.
